Traffic Stop On I-65 Results In Drug Arrest

(JACKSON CO.) - An Alabama man was arrested after an Indiana State Police trooper stopped him for a traffic violation on I-65 near Seymour Tuesday morning.

Police arrested 30-year-old David Earl Berryhill on charges of dealing heroin, possession of heroin, dealing a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana

The investigation began when Trooper Randel Miller stopped a Ford Mustang in the southbound lane of I-65.

During that traffic stop, Trooper Miller deployed his canine Jinx who alerted the trooper to possible illegal drugs in the vehicle.

During a search Trooper Miller found heroin, marijuana, controlled substances in the vehicle. Berryhill, a passenger in the vehicle said the drugs were his.
