(UNDATED) - Kent Abernathy, Commissioner of the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles announced that the Personalized License Plate (PLP) program will return on Friday, April 1.

"I am pleased that we are able to return this very popular program to the public" said Abernathy. "Beginning this Friday, customers who have been waiting for a new PLP will be able visit a branch or go online to apply for one."

Online applications will be available to customers who are registering a new vehicle or renewing their registration for the year. Individuals who wish to switch out their up-to-date plates for a PLP will need to visit a license branch.

Individuals who currently have a PLP will be able to continue renewing their existing PLP or may choose to apply for a new one.
