Pedestrian Alley To Be Constructed Behind Education Center

Last updated on Friday, March 25, 2016

(BEDFORD) - The City of Bedford will create a pedestrian alley behind the Stone Gate Arts and Education Center at the corner of 15th and J streets.

According to Business and Community Development Director Marla Jones, the alley would create a safe area for pedestrians and those visiting or leaving from the rear of the education center.

An alley currently runs from I Street to J Street behind the row of businesses on 15th Street. Jones said the west end of the alley would be blocked a distance of 85 feet from the sidewalk on J. Vehicles could access the alley from the east end, but would have to exit through the parking lot behind the Lawrence County Museum to access 14th Street.
