(LINTON) - A Linton man allegedly involved in a shooting incident was arrested Friday on a charge from a separate incident.

Greene County police arrested 52-year-old Russell Hardisty on a charge of intimidation with a deadly weapon, a Level 5 felony. He is being held at Greene County Jail on a $10,000 bond with 10 percent allowed.

According to a press release issued by investigating officer Det. Sgt. Jim O'Malley, Hardisty had allegedly admitted to shooting 28-year-old Alex Garcia Tuesday night. Garcia had sustained non-life threatening injuries following a gunshot wound to the lower extremities.

According to a probable cause filed with Greene Superior Court the Greene County Sheriff's Department received a 911 call from a concerned individual who had witnessed a man with a knife at her neighbor's residence on 13th Street. The individual told police Hardisty, was "very animated" and was waving his arms above his head and speaking loudly.

Police say, Hardisty was at the home of Alex Garcia's brother, Juan.

Juan Garcia told police someone knocked on the door of his home, but when he looked through the peephole he could not see anyone. He then opened the door and stood on the porch, where he saw a man believed to be Hardisty and a woman standing in his driveway.

Hardisty allegedly asked Juan if he was Alex Garcia's brother, to which he reportedly asked why he wanted to know.

"Juan said he saw something black and thought it was a gun. Juan reported the man said, 'I shot him and I'll kill you, too,'" the report says.

As Juan Garcia began to back away, he told police he saw Hardisty draw a military bayonet style knife and then Hardisty left the property.

Juan and other witnesses picked Hardisty out of a photograph lineup, and the truck described at the Garcia home matched the description given by witnesses.
