(MORGAN CO.) - An Indianapolis Power and Light Company contractor was killed Wednesday morning after an accident near Martinsville.
50-year-old Rickey A. Brewer of Danville was pronounced dead at the Eagle Valley construction site of the new combined-cycle gas turbine power station near Martinsville, according to Morgan County Coroner Annette Rohlman.
Rohlman says Brewer died of blunt force trauma and his death has been deemed accidental. Brewer worked for CB&I Stone & Webster, the company hired to perform the construction.
IPL officials said additional information about how Brewer was killed was not being released Wednesday. But a Morgan County dispatcher says Brewer was pinned between a trailer and a truck.
No others details were immediately available about the incident.
"Safety remains IPL's top priority, and we will continue working with emergency personnel to confirm details regarding the incident," the release read.
