Crane Unit of National Defense Industrial Association Hosting Lunch And Learn Event Today

(WESTGATE@CRANE) - The George Rogers Clark Chapter of the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA), Crane Unit, will host a lunch and learn networking event for anyone involved in the defense industry, or anyone wishing to make contacts in and around the defense industry.

The event will be held at the WestGate Academy -- located at 13598 East WestGate Drive, Odon -- Today from 11:30 a.m.--1 p.m. Cost is $5 per person, and a catered lunch will be available for separate purchase (~$8). The public is welcome.

Maurice L. "Lee" McFann Jr., Lieutenant General, USAF (Ret.) and NDIA Vice President, Membership and Chapters, will be the guest speaker.

Lee retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Lt. General in February 2010. He was the Commander, Allied Air Component Command Headquarters lzmir, and Commander, 16th Air Expeditionary Task Force, U.S. Air Forces in Europe, lzmir, Turkey, responsible for the all air-related tasks in NATO's Southern Region. The command contributes to the security, peace, stability and territorial integrity of alliance member states.

General McFann graduated from California State University at Chico and holds a master's degree from George Peabody College of Vanderbilt University. He entered the Air Force through Officer Training School in 1972, completed navigator training in 1973 and pilot training in 1978. The General has commanded a squadron, group, the NATO E-3A Component, the 552nd Air Control Wing, and an international air expeditionary task force. He also performed key staff duties at Headquarters U.S. Air Force including being the Chief of Safety for the Air Force. Additionally, he has performed staff duties for the Joint Staff and two combatant commands. General McFann was part of the initial cadre for the stand up of U.S. Northern Command and was the first Director of Operations for the command. General McFann is a command pilot with more than 4,400 flying hours in a variety of aircraft.
