(CANNELBURG) - Volunteer firefighters from Cannelburg and Loogootee battled a field fire on Monday.

Firefighters were called to the field fire that burned a section of a field north of Cannelburg. Someone was burning trash when the wind spread the fire to a field containing corn stubble.

A Daviess County sheriff's deputy truck got stuck in the muddy field when volunteer firefighters were fighting the blaze. The truck was pulled from the field with a tractor.

Firefighters are asking residents to use caution burning brush or debris during windy conditions.
