Last updated on Tuesday, March 29, 2016

(BEDFORD) - Becky Sprinkle, the head of guidance counseling at Bedford North Lawrence High School, will be honored at this year’s John Williams Rotary Scholarship Toast.

The event will be held at the First Baptist Church Christian Life Center on April 14. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with dinner at 6:30 p.m.

Sprinkle has held the position at the high school for 41 years and is considering retirement at the end of 2016 at looks at the toast as a farewell event.

Sprinkle has been a guidance counselor at BNL since 1975. She is a Indiana University graduate and has only held one other position at Bloomington North High School before coming to Bedford.

Sprinkle has helped organized local teen volunteers for the Special Olympics, L.I.F.E. pantry and the Boys & Girls Club, as well other organizations.

In addition to her teaching and volunteering, Sprinkle can often be found playing music at the Limestone Cafe, the Crazyhorse Ranch and Lodge and nursing homes. She plays guitar, banjo and harmonica.

Tickets to the Toast are $15 and can be purchased in advance at Copy Trolley, the Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce and Travel One.
