2016 Orleans Dogwood Festival Queen And Jr. Miss Contest Entry Now Open

(ORLEANS) - Entries are now being accepted for the 48th annual Orleans Dogwood Festival Queen Contest and Junior Miss competition.

The Queen Contest sponsored by the Orleans Chamber of Commerce has traditionally served as the official opening ceremony for the town's trademark festival and this year the tradition continues. The contest will be held on Saturday, April 23 at 6:00 p.m. at the Orleans Elementary School.

Jr. Miss Contestants must be in grades 7-8 and Queen Candidates must be in grades 9-12. Candidates must have a sponsor, as well as five $20 sponsors.

For a complete listing of rules and entry information, information may be picked up at Orleans Town Hall or Orleans High School principal's office. The festival website, www.orleansdogwoodfestival.com, will also have entry forms and rule sheets.

Deadline for entering the contest is April 1st.
