(BEDFORD) - There are a few tickets remaining for Becky’s Place Mardi Gras “Shelterbration.”

Becky's Place is a shelter for homeless women and children in Lawrence County. In 2015, 70 women and 40 children stayed at the shelter. Most individuals stay for an extended period of time.

The event is Saturday at 6:30 p.m. at St. Vincent Shamrock Center with catering by Terry's and music by Gran Torino. There will be a silent auction, photo booth and guest will hear from former shelter residents.

Those attending will also view, "This is Becky," a video that tells the story of the shelter's namesake, Sister Becky Ryan.

The cost to attend is $30 a person. Tickets are on sale at the Bedford Chamber, Bedford Federal Savings Bank and the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church office. Remaining tickets will be sold at the door on first-come, first-serve basis.
