(BEDFORD) - Students at Lincoln Elementary School were evacuated this morning after the fire alarm sounded.

According to Principal Angela Wilson because of the cold wet weather students were taken to Davis Memorial Church of the Nazarene while Bedford Fire Department firefighters investigate why the fire alarm sounded.

The church has agreed to act as the student secondary safe location during emergencies. Wilson would like to publicly thank Pastor Mark Thompson for his assistance.

According to firefighters, there was no fire.

The alarm sounded due to a malfunction which was quickly corrected.

As soon as the building was declared safe, students returned to class.

Soon after Principal Wilson sent out a school reach message to parents to alert them of the incident.
