(NEWBURGH) - The Indiana State Fire Marshal's Office says a fire January 27 at a Newburgh apartment complex was accidental.

Firefighters were called to Beaver Creek Apartments just before 9:30 p.m.

The fire spread into a three-alarm blaze, but only left one person injured.

One resident was treated for smoke inhalation at the complex at 4333 Bell Road, according to Shawn Weber, captain at the Newburgh Fire Department. The injured woman refused to go to the hospital. No other injuries were reported.

The fire was contained to building 14 at the southern end of the complex. That building contains 16 units.

Crews from Newburgh, McCutchanville, Yankeetown, Scott Township, Chandler and Ohio Township departments responded to the scene. At least 10 firetrucks arrived at the complex.
