(BEDFORD) - February 8th through February 12th is Family, Careers and Community Leaders of America week and students at Shawswick Middle School are celebrating.
The group will have focus points for each day of the week:
During the 2014-2015 school year lead by FACS educator Angie Timan the FCCLA group accomplished a lot in the community for such a small group. With recycled jeans donated by "What a Woman Wants" the group made lap quilts for the elementary students to use at recess in chilly weather.
They also volunteered time at White River Humane Society and participated in the State Farm Promotion Program of "Celebrate my Drive".
This year's group is just getting started. With the Guidance of Ms. Timan and assisted by Mrs. Jeanette Martin, they are excited to see what they can bring to their community this year.
"Lets' support the FACS educational program and the skills it provides for the students, our future generation, as well as, this group future members and possible leaders of our community," Timan says.
