Last updated on Tuesday, February 16, 2016

(BEDFORD) - Starting February 23, the Bedford Parks Department will be partnering with Bedford Middle School to provide open play Pickle Ball from 6 p.m. pm until 8 p.m.

Pickleball is a racquet sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. Two, three, or four players use solid paddles made of wood or composite materials to hit a perforated polymer ball, similar to a wiffle ball, on a badminton-sized court over a slightly modified tennis net.

A paddle sport created for all ages and skill levels. The rules are simple and the game is easy for beginners to learn, but can develop into a quick, fast-paced, competitive game for experienced players.

The Bedford Parks Department along with the Bedford Middle School will be hosting open play each Tuesday night.

Contact the Bedford Parks Department for more information at (812) 275-5692.
