(BLOOMINGTON) - Monroe County veterans seeking assistance may notice a new face in the county’s veterans affairs department. Retired U.S. Army veteran and Bloomington native Mary Elftman will be the county’s veterans service officer, replacing former service officer Larry Catt, who stepped down after nine years from the position at the end of last year.
Elftman's first day was Monday.
The Monroe County Veterans Affairs Department is located in the Curry Building at 214 W. Seventh St., Suite 100, and is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call 812-349-2568 or 812-349-2537.
