(JASONVILLE) - A Jasonville man who was wanted on a warrant for failing to register as a sex offender was arrested.

Police arrested 30-year-old Daniel Wilson after receiving a tip about his whereabouts. He is being held in the Greene County Jail on a $10,000 bond with 10 percent allowed.

He is facing charges of a Level 6 felony charge of failure to register as a sex or violent offender and a Level 5 felony failure to register with a prior conviction.

Jasonville Police say Wilson was convicted of sexual misconduct with a minor November 2, 2007 and was required to register as a sex offender for 10 years. In 2014, he was convicted of failure to register as a sex offender.

Police were contacted by an individual at Wilson's previous Jasonville address telling police Wilson had moved in the first week of January.

Denise Andrew at the Greene County Sheriff's Department, who handles the sex and violent offender registry, checked on Wilson's status. She confirmed he had not changed his address since checking in December 11, 2015.

Police then got a tip that Wilson was staying at his father's home on Monroe Street in Jasonville. However when police went to the home, the residence told police Wilson was not living there. Wilson allegedly told the individual he was going to leave town.

A warrant was issued for Wilson's arrest.
