(BLOOMINGTON) - Jason Casares, Indiana University associate dean of students and deputy Title IX director, has
tendered his resignation effective immediately.
He was placed on paid administrative leave following accusations of sexual assault at an Association for Student Conduct Administration.
Indiana University has issued the following statement:
Earlier this month, Indiana University learned that a complaint had been filed against Jason A. Casares, director of student ethics and a deputy Title IX coordinator. As a result, the university immediately commenced an investigation. The complaint involved an alleged incident in Fort Worth, Texas, unrelated to his work on the IU Bloomington campus.
University officials say because this is a personnel matter, the university will have no further comments.
As previously stated, IU has retained the services of Julia Lamber, an emerita faculty member of the IU Maurer School of Law and a recognized authority on issues related to Title IX, to re-examine all 18 sexual misconduct cases heard by Casares this academic year to ensure that all parties involved received equitable treatment under the university's disciplinary hearing process.
