Huntingburg Man Dies In Three-Vehicle Accident

(HUNTINGBURG) - A Huntingburg man was killed in a three-vehicle accident on U.S. 231 in the WITZ bottoms Monday night.

According to a Dubois County Sheriff's report, 39-year-old Sameer Metha was killed after his 2001 Chevrolet Tracker hit a patch of ice on the bridge and crashed head-on with a 2014 Toyota Tundra driven by 36-year-old Jeremy Brewer of Jasper. A 2008 Chevrolet Impala driven by Michale Carie then rear-ended the Tundra.

Jasper Fire Department first responders had to free all three drivers from their vehicles.

Metha died at the scene. Brewer suffered a leg injury and was taken by ambulance to Memorial Hospital for treatment. Carie was not injured.

The accident remains under investigation.
