Deadline To Suggest Themes For Dogwood Festival Is Today

(ORLEANS) - The Orleans Chamber of Commerce is seeking general theme suggestions for this years 48th annual Dogwood Festival.

The festival is set for April 27-30.

Theme entries may be submitted online to dogwoodfest47452@netsurfusa.net

Deadline for all entries is Friday, February 19.

A $100 gift card will be awarded to the individual submitting the winning theme.

Orleans Chamber Executive Director Robert F. Henderson says the festival has been designated an official Indiana Bicentennial Festival for 2016.

As in years past there will be a number of pre-festival events including - a town-wide yard sale, the annual Dogwood Festival queen crowning, baby contest and the Phi Beta Psi style show and salad supper, silent auction, a photo contest, euchre tourney, student art show, gospel sing, pet parade and talent contest.

The Orleans American Legion will again sponsor the midway, featuring Brady's Amusement.
Chairpersons are needed for a number of festival events, including the parade.

Volunteers also are needed to help with the staging of various festival-related activities.

Ashley Cowan will again chair the festival queen contest, which is planned for April 23.
