Last updated on Tuesday, February 9, 2016

(MORGAN CO.) - A California man was arrested Tuesday after police found him with stolen credit cards.

An Indiana State Trooper stopped a 2007 Volvo tractor-trailer on I-70 near the 51 mile marker for a routine commercial vehicle inspection at 12:04 p.m.

During a conversation with the driver, 57-year-old Ashot Shaumyan of Van Nuys, CA., who was transporting fresh produce from Yuma Arizona to Bronx, New York ISP Trooper Yan Dravigne noticed possible indicators of criminal activity.

Shaumyan gave the trooper consent to search the semi. The trooper found 10 fraudulent credit cards with stolen credit card numbers on them concealed in a DVD case inside the semi.

Shaumyan was arrested on felony charges of credit card fraud and forgery.

The tractor-trailer was operated under Vaga Express of Duarte, California. Shaumyan was transporting fresh produce from Yuma, Arizona to Bronx, New York.

Assisting were ISP Trooper Jim Wells and the U.S. Secret Service.
