Brothers Earn Rank Of Eagle Scout

(SPRINGVILLE) - Brothers Daniel and Dustin Teague have earned the rank of Boy Scouts of America Eagle Scout Award.

The boys were recognized in a ceremony at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church on January 17. Scout Master Albert Cross was joined in the ceremony by Eagle Scout William Teague, older brother of Daniel and Dustin. William conducted the Eagle Charge, a solemn portion of the program.

The brothers are members of Troop 343 in Springville.

To earn the award a scout must earn 21 merit badges, show leadership skills and successfully complete a community or church-related service project.

Daniel earned 46 merit badges. For his service project, he built a playground for children living at Becky's Place, a women's shelter in Bedford.

He has completed National Youth Leadership training and is a member of Order of the Arrow. During his time as a Scout, Daniel has served on staff at Ransburg Scout Reservation. He is a freshman at Ivy Tech Community College.

Dustin earned 47 merit badges. For his service project, he restored the walls of the baptistery and a damaged area at his church, Landmark Missionary Baptist.

He is a member of Order of the Arrow. During his time in scouting, he served at both Ransburg Scout Reservation and Maumee Scout Camp. He is a senior at Bedford North Lawrence High School.

Daniel and Dustin are sons of Kenneth and Paula Teague of Bedford. The Teagues have two daughters, Amanda and Kelly, and two other sons, Brandon, a First Class Scout, and Sam who is a Bear Scout.
