(NINEVEH) - AT&T has added a new cell tower south of Nineveh to its 4G LTE network to give customers faster, more reliable wireless service.

The new cell site is located near Cordry Lake and Sweetwater Lake in Brown County and will serve the surrounding area along with Nineveh in Johnson County.

The change will help customers get the most out of their mobile devices. With 4G LTE service, they should see better service when they're watching videos, posting to social media or texting family and friends.

"This kind of investment is critical to sustaining the growth of our local economies and improving the quality of life in rural areas," said State Rep. Eric Koch, who represents the area and serves as chairman of the Indiana House Utilities, Energy & Telecommunications Committee. "We appreciate the continued investment by AT&T necessary to bring the latest technology to all parts of our state.

"We've worked hard to create a favorable regulatory climate for telecommunications investment in Indiana, and this is further evidence that those efforts are working," Koch added.

AT&T has invested nearly $2 billion in its wireless and wired networks in Indiana between 2012 through 2014, driving a wide range of upgrades to reliability, coverage, speed and performance for residents and business customers.

"We want our customers to have a great experience. They'll be able to download, upload, stream and play games faster than ever before on our 4G LTE network," said Bill Soards, president of AT&T Indiana. "We're always working to provide better coverage. And we're investing in our wireless network to accomplish that."

We constantly invest in our network to give customers the high-quality services they need to stay connected. This helps Indiana residents get the best possible experience over the AT&T network, whether at home, at work or on the go.
