(WASHINGTON) - Washington officials are considering a mobile home placement restriction within the city limits.
The Washington Times Herald reports, the ordinance would grandfathered in existing mobile homes while requiring future mobile homes to be placed in trailer parks.
However, Councilman Jerry Sidebottom questioned a clause in the ordinance allowing mobile homes to be placed outside trailer parks, if the trailer met city standards, adjoining neighbors approved, and a variance was granted by the Board of Zoning Appeals.
BZA Chairman, Don Spillman asked the Council to provide written direction to the BZA if the intent of the Council was to strictly limit trailers in the city.
Council members agreed that was their intent and voted to send the ordinance back to the Plan Commission for further consideration.
