Tools Stolen From Trailers At Cortland Elementary School

Last updated on Monday, January 4, 2016

(CORTLAND) - A building expansion project under construction at Cortland Elementary School was the target of thieves who stole thousands of dollars worth of tools, police said Thursday.

The burglary took place at 6687 North County Road 400 East sometime after workers from T & G Construction left Wednesday afternoon and before they arrived early Thursday morning, according to Jackson County Sheriff's Department Lt. Darin Downs.

"The construction company had a couple of semitrailers out there holding their tools and equipment," Downs says.

Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call the Jackson County Sheriff's Department.
