(BEDFORD) - Today is the first day for major political party candidates to file to run in the May 3 primary election.
Voters in Lawrence County will be casting votes for county offices as well as various state and a new president.
Today is also the first day an independent or minor party candidate can file a petition of nomination for the general election for verification of petition signatures.
To file for office, visit the voter registration office in the basement of the Lawrence County Courthouse.
