(UNDATED) - A Taswell man was jailed Saturday after leading police on a chase through parts of Daviess, Martin and Greene counties.
34-year-old Dewayne I. Bays is facing charges of resisting law enforcement in a vehicle and on foot, reckless driving causing property damage and being a habitual traffic offender. He is being held without bond.
According to police logs, the pursuit started at 2:20 p.m. at the Coffee Haus in Odon where Bays reportedly passed out in a vehicle that was in gear.
Shortly after the vehicle was on the move.
The police reports say there was a point where Bays allegedly struck an EMT with the driver's side door of his vehicle knocking the EMT to the ground.
The chase went from County Road 900 East into Martin County to State Road 231 to Greene County and into Newberry and some county roads where Bays eventually stopped and was captured.
