Monroe Co. Deputy Prosecutor For Sex Crimes Seeking Monroe Circuit Court Judge Seat

Last updated on Wednesday, January 6, 2016

(BLOOMINGTON) - Darcie Fawcett, Monroe County Deputy Prosecutor for Sex Crimes, announced she will seek to fill the vacancy left by Monroe Circuit Court Judge E. Michael Hoff.

Judge Hoff is retiring in 2016.

Fawcett says her wide range of experiences, accumulated over decades of public service, provides her with the perspective necessary to make the best possible decisions.

"I am dedicated to serving Monroe County as honorably as Judge Hoff. Hopefully the voters will recognize my commitment to our community and the work I have done to ensure justice for all, especially the most vulnerable--our children and victims of sexual assault. Serving as Circuit Court Judge will allow me to use my knowledge of the law to focus on matters that greatly affect my community."

Fawcett is not a politician, but a public servant.

As the Felony Sex Crimes Deputy Prosecutor in Monroe County, Fawcett has a reputation for holding offenders accountable for their crimes while maintaining her fundamental belief in fairness of the law.

As a single mother of two children, she is President of the Fairview Elementary PTO, working with teachers and parents to make Fairview reach its full potential.

She is also President of the Prospect Hill Neighborhood, a mayoral appointment to the Bloomington Urban Enterprise Association and a member of the Hospital Site Reutilization Steering Committee. Thus demonstrating her dedication and commitment to the people of Monroe County.
