Man Arrested After Threatening To Set Off Bomb At Chase Bank

Last updated on Monday, January 11, 2016

(BLOOMINGTON) - A man was arrested Saturday after he threatened to set off a bomb unless a bank teller gave him cash.

According to a Bloomington Police report, officers arrested 43-year-old Lorin Predovich on preliminary felony charges of robbery and intimidation.

Police say Predovich had a Colorado driver's license, but they are not sure if he was living in Bloomington.

Police were called to Chase Bank on College Avenue after a holdup alarm sounded.

Police say Predovich, who was wearing a surgical mask and gloves, entered the bank and told the teller he would detonate a bomb if she didn't give him money.

The teller complied and Predovich left the bank, but a citizen followed him and alerted police that he was outside of Kilroy's Sport's Bar.

Police arrived six minutes later and arrested Predovich and recovered the bank's money.

Police say Predovich did not have a bomb or any other weapons on him at the time of his arrest.
