(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington District Commander Lieutenant Paul Bucher presented several awards Friday to honor the hard work and dedication of local Troopers.

Sgt. Ryan Miller was awarded the 2015 Bloomington District "Trooper of the Year".

Miller was presented a framed plaque that read the following words;
Sergeant Ryan S. Miller has so well served the Indiana State police and Indiana citizens as to be proclaimed publicly deserving of praise and respect for his outstanding dedication to the Bloomington District. His consistent hard work ethic over the last several years is exceptional and very deserving of the 2015 "Trooper of the Year"

Miller was promoted to District Squad Sergeant in August of 2015. Prior to this promotion he was assigned to Monroe County and always maintained strong enforcement efforts in criminal, traffic and public-service and has spent countless hours assisting the ISP Academy Classes and instructing on the ISP Firing Range. Ryan is well respected in the community and at the district. He consistently displays a positive attitude and is always willing to assist others in need.

Ryan is very much a "go to" officer for any type of law enforcement question or need. Over the last several years he has assisted numerous Troopers and other law-enforcement officers. He exemplifies the character expected of an Indiana State trooper. Ryan is to be commended for his Integrity, Service and Professionalism.

Lt. Bucher also recognized the hard work to the ISP Bloomington Drug Task Force team which includes the Meth Suppression Unit, Bloomington ACES (Aggressive Criminal Enforcement Section) and K9 Troopers Allen Deel with his K9 Drogos and Richard Klun with his K9 Loki.

Master Trooper Todd Durnil & M/Trp Bill Lux were recognized for 25 Years of Service. M/Trp John Yung was also recognized for his 20 Years of Service.

Master Trooper Mark Clephane, M/Trp. Todd Durnil, M/Trp. Mike Clephane and Trooper Allen Deel were all recognized for accumulated Safe Driving miles.

Master Trooper Michael Clouse (Ret.) of Gosport was also recognized for his 31 years of service to the Indiana State Police.
