Hoosier National Forest Hosting 'Capture The Forest' Photo Contest

Last updated on Monday, January 18, 2016

(BEDFORD) - Grab your camera or smart phone and visit the Hoosier National Forest to capture a few great shots. The Forest is sponsoring a photo contest and everyone is a winner when they get outdoors and have fun taking pictures.

There are several ways to submit your photos, you can share your best pictures with the hashtag ‪#‎capturetheforest or you can email the photos to Stacy Duke at sduke@fs.fed.us.

The photo contest will continue throughout the year, with winners selected quarterly. Those whose photos are selected as winners will win a gift certificate to the Hoosier National Forest nature stores.

Selected photos may be shared on social media, posted on our website, or displayed at the Hoosier National Forest offices. Unless the photo is taken at an organized event, please ensure that anyone recognizable in the photo is okay with being photographed and aware that you are submitting the picture.

Any photo submitted must be taken on the Hoosier National Forest. Other than that- whatever the photographer choose for a subject, is fine. Forest staff want to see pictures in all seasons and through the eyes of all types of visitors. Have fun with this and Forest judges look forward to seeing what we get.

"What better excuse to get outside in all seasons, and all weather to enjoy the outdoors- just take a camera and go," says District Ranger Chris Zimmer. "Then share the moments and memories you captured with others. You might even win a prize- it doesn't get any better than that!"
