Last updated on Tuesday, January 19, 2016

(BEDFORD) - A Freetown man suffered facial injuries after his vehicle struck a tree Friday night.

According to a Lawrence County Police report, 25-year-old Michael Bush told police he was unfamiliar with the road when he crashed his 2000 Dodge Ram pickup at 7:28 p.m.

Police say Bush was traveling south on Leesville Road and had entered the curve at around 55 to 60-miles-per-hour when he hit his brakes. The truck crossed into the northbound lane went off the east side of the road, struck an embankment and then a tree in the yard of Sandy Couch at 6613 Leesville Road.

Bush and the truck were gone when police arrived.

Police were notified by Schneck Hospital in Seymour that Bush was being treated in their emergency room after suffering facial injuries.

Bush was told to report to the Lawrence County Police Department Monday to complete an accident report.
