Explore Lesser-Known Parts Of Monroe Lake In Winter Hike Series

(MONROE LAKE) - Explore off-trail areas around Monroe Lake not regularly visited by the public during the annual Winter Exploration Hike Series, January through March.

Monroe Lake interpretive naturalist Jill Vance will lead the hikes. Each will last 90 minutes to two hours.

"I don't plan a set path," she said. "We go where the terrain and inspiration take us."

Vance does not recommend the hikes for young children, people with mobility concerns, or those with no hiking experience.

The hikes are free, but advance registration is required. Each hike is limited to 20 people. Registrants are emailed driving directions to the meeting location and additional details the day before hike.
