Bedford Man Arrested After Saying His Arms Were Swelling, Veins Busting

Last updated on Wednesday, January 13, 2016

(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was arrested Tuesday after he called police requesting an ambulance because his arms were swelling and his veins were busting.

According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, 22-year-old Samuel Mynatt of Bedford called police requesting an ambulance just after 5 p.m.

Both an IU Health Hospital ambulance and police responded to the call.

When emergency crews arrived they discovered Mynatt was imagining the symptoms.

"He admitted to doing meth," Parsley says. "And he still had some left."

Police found a baggie with a small amount of a white powdery substance that tested positive for meth. They also discovered a smoking device.

After finding no medical issue, Mynatt was arrested on charges of possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia and taken to the Lawrence County Jail.
