Bedford Man Sentenced To Six Years In Prison

(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was sentenced to six years in prison after pleading guilty to dealing and possession of meth.

Lawrence County Superior Court I Judge Michael Robbins, sentenced 41-year-old Kevin Brooking of Bedford to 2.5 years in prison for possession of meth and six years in prison with three years suspended to probation and 1 year on electronic monitoring for dealing meth. The sentenced will be served consecutively.

He was also arrested on September 16, 2014 when Indiana State Police arrested Brooking after a traffic stop. During the stop, troopers found meth and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle.

On September 29, the Drug Task Force searched Booking's home and found about 4 grams of meth, three glass smoking devices, numerous plastic bags and a digital scale. Officers also recovered a safe containing 36 $100 bills. Brooking admitted he used and sold meth and he sold about an ounce of meth per month.

Brooking was arrested on March 10, 2015 after the Lawrence County Task Force went to his home with an arrested warrant for dealing meth. While there police discovered more of the drug and marijuana.

Then on April 29, Brooking was arrested again after officer served a search warrant at his home. Officers found 3.71 grams of meth, $122 cash and drug paraphernalia.
