(BLOOMFIELD) - An argument between a driver and his passenger caused the driver to become distracted and lose control of his vehicle Tuesday morning.
According to a Greene County Sheriff's Department police report, the single-vehicle accident on Blue Barn Hill Road happened around 10:30 a.m.
According to police, 64-year-old Franklin Brabham of Georgia was traveling west on State Road 54 in an unloaded 2008 Volvo semi-tractor trailer.
Brabham told police that he was arguing with his spouse and became distracted causing the vehicle to leave the north side of the road. The semi struck a guardrail and a mailbox east of Blue Barn Hill Road. The semi then left the roadway and went about 1,400 feet into a field and yards.
The semi then struck a tree and went over an embankment at North Blue Barn Hill.
Brabham was not wearing a seatbelt, which caused him to be thrown into the lap of his passenger, preventing him from stopping the semi.
Both Franklin and his passenger Wendell Brabham both complained of chest pain and were taken by ambulance to IU Health Bloomington Hospital.
