(BLOOMFIELD) - Two men were cited into for trespassing after rappelling from at the Richland Creek Viaduct.
Indiana Conservation Officers Police cited into court 21-year-old Robert McCann of Springville and 23-year-old Nicholas Kane of Indianapolis for criminal trespassing on railroad property and driving or walking on railroad right-of-way, both misdemeanor charges.
The investigation stemmed from a call placed to Greene County Sheriff's Department of two men rappelling from the Richland Creek Viaduct. McCann and Kane were both found at the bridge and admitted to trespassing without consent.
The Richland Creek Viaduct is a railroad trestle 2,307 feet long and 157 feet tall. It is currently still in use by the Indiana Railroad. The viaduct is classified as critical infrastructure and has sustained past damage from trespassers.
Indiana Conservation Officers were assisted by the Greene County Sheriff's Department.
