(MEDORA) - Two Jennings County men wound up in jail Friday after a traffic stop in Medora led to the discovery of meth and 82 syringes.

59-year-old William Neely and 45-year-old Gregory Loper, both of North Vernon, face charges of possession of meth, possession of syringes and possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance. Loper also faces charges of possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.

According to a news release from Jackson County Officer Adam Nicholson, the incident that led to their arrests occurred when the officer stopped a 1998 GMC pickup belonging to Neely, because it had an expired license plate. That stop occurred on South David Street in Medora at about 3:50 p.m. Friday.

During a search of the pickup, police found meth, the 82 syringes, drug paraphernalia, marijuana and pills classified at a Schedule IV controlled substance.
