Six Injured In Washington House Fire

(WASHINGTON) - Six people were injured this morning in a house fire in Washington.

Firefighters were called to the home at 1215 W. Walnut Street just after 5 a.m.

Some of the residents who were inside the two-story house, which had been divided into an upstairs and downstairs apartments, had to be rescued off the roof.

Three adults and two children were injured during the fire, but their names have not yet been released.

Washington Police say some of the residents were treated at the scene from smoke inhalation

Washington City Police officers Case Cummings and Derrick Devine rushed inside to wake other occupants and help them get out of the house.

The Indiana State Fire Marshal's office has been called to investigate the cause of the fire.
