Three Salem Residents Arrested On Drug Charges

Last updated on Friday, December 18, 2015

(SALEM) - Three people landed in jail after police searched a room at the Cobblestone Hotel early Monday morning.

Police arrested 24-year-old Logan Miller; his sister, 26-year-old Lauren Miller and 20-year-old Ethan Abell, all of Salem all early Monday morning. All three were taken to the Washington County Jail on a variety of drug-related charges.

Logan Miller was also wanted on a warrant for probation violations. He is being charged with possession of a synthetic drug, visiting a common nuisance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of manufacturing drug paraphernalia.

Lauren Miller is facing charges of maintaining a common nuisance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a syringe and possession of drug paraphernalia and a synthetic drug.

Abell was charged with visiting a common nuisance, possession of a synthetic drug and possession of a controlled substance.

The investigation started after Washington County officers were called to a home in the 100 block of South Fair Street on Sunday night, after a report that two 13-year-old boys were found unresponsive. The boys were taken to St. Vincent Salem hospital. Washington County Sheriff Roger Newlon says the cause was suspected drug use which lead to police obtaining a warrant for the home of the boys. Salem Police Detective Scott Ratts says that incident is still under investigation, but it lead police to Logan Miller, who was wanted on a warrant.

Police arrived at the Cobblestone Hotel about 12:30 a.m. Monday.

Logan Miller saw police pull in and slipped upstairs to hide. Police found him and he was arrested. Police then spotted Lauren Miller coming out of a room. In that room police discovered items used to make meth and other drugs.

Assisting in the arrests were Pekin Town Marshall Jeff Thomas and officer with the Salem Police Department.
