Odon Man Arrested After Police Say He Burnt Down His Own Home

(ODON) - An Odon man is behind bars facing two counts of arson after police say he started the fire at his home this weekend.

According to Daviess County Police, 32-year-old Brendan Dillon is also facing charges of theft, criminal mischief, resisting arrest and two counts of arson.

He is being held at the Daviess County Jail on a $26,500 cash bond only.

Sheriff Jerry Harbstreit says his officers went to Odon to talk with Dillon concerning a theft from the Dollar General Store. While there officers recovered some of the missing merchandise and also found marijuana. Dillon was advised he was under arrest and that is when he began to fight with police.

Firefighters were called to Dillon's home at 303 South Spring St. at 6:26 p.m. Sunday.

The fire keep firefighters busy most of the night. After putting out the fire, an investigator from the Indiana Fire Marshal's Office was called to investigate the cause. Firefighters returned to the scene on Monday morning after the fire rekindled.

It was determined the fire had been set. Dillon was then charged with two counts of arson and arrested Sunday night.
