Indiana Limestone Moving Offices To Bloomington

Last updated on Monday, December 14, 2015

(OOLITIC) - Indiana Limestone Co. is moving their offices from Oolitic to Bloomington.

According to a news release, most office operations will move this month to the former Ken Nunn Law Office at 123 S. College Ave. in downtown Bloomington.

Company President Duffe Elkins says no one will be losing their jobs. Elkins says they have hired about 50 new employees in the past year.

A news release from ILCO notes the new headquarters "will bring ample new office space, capacity for future growth and an excellent place to work with customers on project design and development. The office features comfortable and spacious office suites, easy accessibility and convenient parking, all located just a block south of the Monroe County Courthouse and its historic square."

Elkins said being close to Indiana University's Bloomington campus also is important, because many university structures were built using Indiana Limestone Co.'s native stone. The company has taken potential customers and architects on tours of the IU buildings to show different ways limestone can be used.

Nunn, owner of the new Indiana Limestone Co. headquarters, has developed a personal injury law practice over the course of more than four decades.

"We are very glad to partner with Indiana Limestone Co.," Nunn said in the news release. "This is a firm that represents Indiana at its best -- like us, they're deeply involved in the life and growth of this proud state and community."

Tom Quigley, CEO of Indiana Limestone Co., issued this statement: "This is a great location, given the dynamic culture of Bloomington and the surrounding area. This new corporate office and location will serve us well into the future, given our growth plans. We look forward to being a good corporate citizen of this community."

The mill in Oolitic will still do some sawing and slabbing operations and other site-specific tasks.
