(BEDFORD) - Garden Villa plans to donate 4.29 acres to the city of Bedford for trails.

Garden Villa is part of Convalescent Care Corp., who had given the city permission to cross the property north of Garden Villa, on Norton Lane, west of Wilson Park and the Bedford National Guard Armory, to provide an access to the Milwaukee Trail from Wilson Park.

The Bedford Plan Commission agreed to accept the land donation which would make the access permanent.

The land is rough with a steep slope, but it does have a stream and small waterfall.

The Bedford Parks Department and North Lawrence Schools have started talks about developing the trail through the parcel to connect with the Parkview School campus. The hope is to create trails between Wilson Park and the school campus with links to the Milwaukee Trail.
