(BEDFORD) - The 23rd annual L.I.F.E. Fantasia auction raised more than $28,900 for the L.I.F.E. Food Pantry with more than 250 people attending the event.
The top selling item this year was not a Christmas tree, but a limestone benchmade in memory for a longtime Fantasia and L.I.F.E. supporter Gary Evans, president and co-owner of Architectural Stone. Evans passed away from cancer in June. The bench which had the state of Indiana carved on the top and included a large planter with a small live pine tree planted in it. The bench sold for $1,100 with the planter fetching $900.
The auction is L.I.F.E.'s only fundraiser. Other items that sold from $1,000 were a revolving tree by Williams Realtors and an 8-foot tree trimmed in red and gold decorated by Parkview Intermediate Student Council.
