(BLOOMINGTON) - Eagle Pointe Golf Resort near Lake Monroe is closing at the end of the year.
The closing is temporary, because the golf course and clubhouse located at 2250 East Pointe Road is for sale. The asking price is $2,500,000.
According to Donna Stroup, president of the board of directors for Pointe Service Association, the golf course had been struggling to stay open for some time and that is why the owners put the golf course, clubhouse and banquet facilities up for sale.
General manager Jacob King says the plan is to close the resort in January and February and hopefully reopen under new ownership after that if the facilities sell. Potential buyers have showed interest in purchasing the facilities, but officials are not disclosing who those buyers are.
King stressed that events booked at the resort for the months of January and February will still take place and those hosting events have been notified.
Employees were notified by mail last week about the closing.
