(BLOOMINGTON) - A Kentucky man was arrested Saturday morning by Bloomington Police after they received information about a possible drug deal.

Police arrested 35-year-old Christopher Lomax, also known as "D" or Deshone Thomas, on charges of possession of a narcotic drug with the intent to sell, possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, receiving stolen property and identity deception.

According to police, detectives received information that Lomax was transporting heroin from Louisville to Bloomington and would be in town Saturday morning. Officers waited for him to arrive. Once they spotted his vehicle they stopped him for a traffic violation. When questioned by officers Lomax provided police with a false name.

An Indiana State Police K-9 unit was called to the scene and alerted police to possible drugs in the vehicle. Officers found a hidden compartment inside the vehicle approximately 40 to 50 grams of heroin with a street value of between $4,000 and $5,000. They also found two handguns - both had been reported stolen in Louisville and a third handgun hid in the interior of the vehicle. Police also found a couple thousand dollars in cash.
