(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington man was arrested after being interrogated as a burglary suspect at Sonic on Sunday.

Other officers rushed to the area of South Walnut Street looking for 27-year-old Timothy Nelson.

According to police the alleged burglary happened early Sunday morning around 1:46 a.m.

Police say the front door was forced open and security video shows two suspects wearing coats with hoods entering the Sonic. Police say an undisclosed amount of cash and coupon cards were taken.

Nelson, a former Sonic employee, was being interviewed at the restaurant when he fled the scene.

When officers captured Nelson, he reported he was having a hard time breathing. He was arrested and placed in handcuffs in a police car until an IU Health Hospital ambulance arrived on the scene. He was then taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation. After his release from the hospital he was taken to the Monroe County jail on charges of breaking and entering, theft and resisting law enforcement.

Police say the investigation continues and the identity of the second suspect has not been released.
