(NASHVILLE) - The 38th annual Brown County Children's Christmas Benefit Auction will begin at 6 p.m. Friday at the Out of the Ordinary restaurant in Nashville.

Items for sale include hotel gift certificates, paintings, artwork and other wares made by local merchants, a retired American Girl doll, a Lionel "Polar Express" train and tickets to the 2016 BMW PGA Tour Championship in Indianapolis.

The auction was started by a group of individuals who called themselves the "No Name Committee," as no one involved wanted to specifically take credit for the event.

Monetary donations and donations of new, unused items will also be accepted at the auction.

Proceeds from the volunteer-run auction will be used to purchase winter clothing for Brown County schoolchildren.
