Woman Arrested After Punching Man In Face

Last updated on Monday, November 23, 2015

(BEDFORD) - A Bedford woman is facing battery charges after she punched a man in the nose because he wouldn’t stop playing computer games.

According to Lawrence County Sheriff Mike Branham, police arrested 42-year-old Bridget Adams of Bedford on Thursday.

Police say that Adams got upset when the man wouldn't stop playing the games when she asked him to.

Adams hit him in the face multiple times with a closed fist. Branham says that because the man was wearing glasses, he suffered a cut to the bridge of his nose.

The man told police that Adams had been drinking whiskey all day and had gone to bed, but a couple of hours later she got up and was angry with the man because he was still playing on the computer and assaulted him a second time.

The man went to Indiana University Health Bedford Hospital's emergency room for treatment, and an emergency room employee notified police.

Officers from the Lawrence County Police Department interviewed the victim at the hospital and then went to the Adam's home at 12:50 a.m. Friday, where they arrested her on a charge of domestic battery.
