Valloina Under Boil Order

Last updated on Monday, November 2, 2015

(VALLONIA) - Jackson County Water Utility Inc. has issued a precautionary boil advisory for its customers in Vallonia and south along State Road 135, Lake Road and customers who receive water supplied off Lake Road.

The advisory is in effect until further notice.

When water service is restored, customers are advised to boil their water, according to a news release.

The utility company suggests boiling the water "vigorously for at least five minutes" and letting it cool prior to using it for food preparation.

Boiling water to use for other purposes is not necessary as long as the water is not consumed, according to the news release.

The advisory will be in effect until the company can confirm through testing of the water that bacteria is not present, which should be completed within five days.

After the testing, the company will notify customers when the advisory is canceled.
