Two More Men Arrested In Home-Invasion, Armed Robbery In Bloomington

Last updated on Monday, November 9, 2015

(BLOOMINGTON) - Two Washington men were arrested in connection with a home-invasion armed robbery last month in Bloomington.

Police arrested 21-year-old Adam Archer and 23-year-old Lucas Cunningham, both of Washington, on charges of burglary and armed robbery.

A mother and son; 19-year-old Brandon Karns and 40-year-old Cindy WIninger, both of Odon; were arrested in October in connection to the same offense. They too are facing charges of burglary and armed robbery.

Archer and Cunningham were arrested Thursday.

Bloomington Police say the armed robbery happened on October 24 at 2:45 a.m. in an apartment in the 2000 block of North Walnut Street in retaliation for a bogus marijuana deal.

According to police reports, officers went to an apartment after a man reported someone was breaking into his apartment and a male had kicked open his bedroom door.

According to Bloomington Police Department Capt. Joe Qualters, a man pistol-whipped the caller in the face and took cash, his wallet and phone before ransacking the apartment. The caller reported two other people, a man and woman who were staying at the apartment, also were held at gun knifepoint and had their phones taken.

Police learned that the victim and Karns had sold marijuana to each other. But the two were in a dispute over $4,000 that had been stolen or lost in the mail when the victim allegedly filled a freezer bag with fake marijuana and sold it to Karns.

Detectives later found Karns in Linton and Wininger in Odon on October 26.

Both Archer and Cunningham was arrested Friday night.
